Leadership Styles and Impact on Climate

With the world around us, and its organisations, constantly changing, the definition and practice of leadership, too, has changed. The rules of the past no longer hold, and different capabilities are required to manage an ever-changing present and future.

Leaders today are called on to manage an increasingly diverse workforce, complex systems, to leverage globalisation, to focus on a triple- and even quadruple bottom lines, and demonstrate not only IQ, but also (indeed more so) emotional, political and spiritual intelligence.

With this in mind, the latest research suggests that leaders who are authentic or 'real' and who can create resonance, produce the best results.

Resonant leaders inspire others through their own passion, their convictions, their vision and their humanity. They are in tune with themselves and therefore better able to understand those they lead. They are willing to be human and therefore fallible, but also prepared to right any wrongs and lead with integrity. Importantly, they understand the power of emotions in the workplace, and have the skills to foster and sustain positive emotions that build goodwill and create success.

Dattner Grant, combining the best of current research and our own extensive experience of leadership in organisations, has developed tools and materials to help leaders explore:

  • The changing face of organisations
  • Past, present and future leadership
  • The components of great leadership
  • Resonant leadership and its impact on organisational performance.

This thought-provoking topic can be included as part of a long-range leadership development program or stand alone as part of an Emotional Intelligence workshop.
